About the
BMF

The Black Management Forum (BMF) is a non-racial, non-partisan and non-sexist organisation focusing on developing managerial leadership and creating managerial structures that reflect the demographics and values of the broader South African society.

The BMF strives to provide its members with access to the necessary tools to develop managerial and leadership skills through workshops, conferences and programmes. We are positioned as a thought leaders by contributing to the public and producing solutions for the problems faced in South Africa. Our goal is to advocate for transformation in the social and socio-economic sphere, including lobbying for legislation that seeks to change the economic outlook in corporate South Africa and the broader society.

THEME:

Reflecting on South Africa’s Journey Towards 30 Years of Socio-Economic Transformation

The BMF, as a thought-leadership organisation hosts its annual policy conference to discuss pertinent socio-economic issues that affect the country and take clear resolutions, which the organisation will lobby for with both government and business.

This conference presents a unique opportunity for profound reflection upon the 30-year journey of transformation in South Africa, a period widely perceived as the transition marking the end of an era. It signifies a pivotal moment for the emergence of a new generation of leaders and intellectual thinkers, charged with the profound task of scrutinising the achievements and setbacks experienced by our nation over the past three decades.

Furthermore, this conference harmonises with the mandate issued to the Black Management Forum (BMF) by President Ramaphosa, which centres on reigniting the Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) initiative within the country and delivering explicit recommendations for the path ahead.

Conference Sub-Themes:

Reviewing the Performance of B-BBEE: Successes & Unintended Consequences.

The challenge of having higher B-BBEE level companies yet real transformation remains docile.

Women at the centre of B-BBEE and transformation.

The 20 Years of B-BBEE Policy Improvements, Reviewing Targets, and Implementing B-BBEE 2.0.

THE BIG DEBATE- How will the agenda of transformation fair post the general elections?
