In 2025, the Black Management Forum shifts the lens from inspiration to honesty with The Balance Behind the Brilliance. This campaign challenges the myth of perfect “work-life balance” and asks: what really sustains women as they rise?
Through stories from women at different life stages — from recent graduates to seasoned executives — we uncover the hidden structures that support success: mentorship, community, resilience, and the personal strategies that often go unseen. Together, their voices reveal how balance has evolved over time, what progress has been made, and which barriers still remain.
This year’s campaign is not about presenting polished images of achievement. It is about showing the scaffolding behind leadership, the sacrifices and support systems that make brilliance possible, and the unapologetic truth that thriving looks different for every woman.

In 2024, the Black Management Forum dedicated Women’s Month to honouring the women whose journeys ignite possibility for others. Women Who Inspire Us was about celebrating lived experience — the quiet acts of leadership, the bold leaps into uncharted territory, and the determination to keep going when the odds are steep.
We highlighted women who are shaping the future in ways both visible and unseen: building businesses, driving social change, mentoring the next generation, and breaking ground in their fields. Each profile was a window into a life lived with courage and purpose, reminding us that inspiration often comes from those who simply refuse to give up.
